Do-It-Yourself Internet Marketing in the Social Media Age—Thumbonomics is Here!

My new book Thumbonomics: The Essential Business Roadmap for Social Media & Mobile Marketing has a Nov. 1 launch date. This book has been a real labor of love for me and everyone who collaborated with me on it. If you have ever written and self-published a book, you know just how much thought, effort, time, and creativity has to go into it. As soon as I got my initial concept and definitely decided to write it, the ideas started pouring in:

adding in the distinctive illustrations… the practical Findability Makeovers showing step-by-step how real companies have used social media to enhance their reputation and their bottom line… the use of QR Codes in each chapter to keep the information timely… and a whole chapter of interviews with industry leaders who have successfully used social media to market their businesses—including our own Colorado Governor, John Hickenlooper.

Some of the other fascinating and useful interviews in Thumbonomics include:

  • Bill Gerth, (Comcast Bill) head of Comcast’s Digital Media Outreach Team talks Twitter and Facebook
  • D-Bar Restaurant and the Foot Network Challenge’s Keegan Gerhard: Changing the World, One Slice of Cake at a Time
  • Interview with Charlie Cole, V.P of Online Marketing for Lucky Brand Jeans
  • Delivering Happiness and Zappos.com FAQ with Tony Hsieh, NYT Best-Selling Author and CEO of Zappos.com

In fact, by the time you read this, you might be able to already purchase your own copy of Thumbonomics. I hope that my passion for using social media as an internet marketing, branding and reputation management tool shows through when you read it. I know this stuff works!!!

If you haven’t entered the arena of social media marketing yet (are you afraid of the lions or the Christians?) I sincerely hope this book gives you the how-to’s you need to become a social media gladiator, whether you are a big corporate honcho or a small business solo-preneur.

One of the things extensively covered in Thumbonomics is the tools which make social media easy! Stay tuned for next week’s blog, when we discuss the Twitter tools, (Twitter is so huge that tools for using it are springing up all over the place!) TweetDeck and TwitterSentiment.com.
