Your Website Sucks & How to Fix It

Do I Need To Fix My Website?

We have all been there. We spend lots of money building our “Dream Website” or what we picture our dream website to be. We hire a website designer, we do brand kits, pick colors, fonts etc.

I am sure you are asking yourself, “Why am I not getting the results I thought I would?”

And of course you want to be a thought leader in your field, remember Google is looking for thought leaders that are out there working it. They’re doing their research, those are your blog posts.

Those are the key components to a successful website, I think we’ve been sold a bag of lies by web developers.

They tell you that if you have a gorgeous website, that’s all you need and the customers will come to you. And I can tell you from my experience that’s just not true, in order to be a leader you need to have a website that converts.

Why Should I Care?

You’ve got to make a commitment this year to be the thought leader that Google is waiting for you to be, the people who do the best with this are the people who put in the work. And I know we’re all busy, but if we really want to turn the tide with our websites we need to do the work!

I want to show you some tools today that are going to turn the tide. If you put in the work, these tools will help make your website findable.

There are a couple of things that I need you to understand about the Google Robot.

A robot does not understand the passion you have for your business, a robot does not care about how your website looks. It’s going to give you less than a second to index the site. And you better make a good first impression or they may not come back and you won’t get indexed.

And it’s hard to get the attention. So the attention has to be driven by what others are doing right now.

What you really need to do is put your ear to the ground and hear what people are searching for, what are the latest trends? And how you can leverage that information and use it to your advantage.

How Can Google Help Me?

Go to Google and type in a keyword you want to rank for, what you will see is Questions People ask, these are actual questions that people are putting into the Google Search engine to find the answers, can you be there when they search? Absolutely!

Then scroll down all the way to the bottom, you will see Searches related to, these are phrases that people are searching for, you need to look at them and ask yourself can I answer these questions? If you can, boom you have your topic for a Blog.

So when a potential customer comes to your website you have a few seconds to make a first impression, so your web design and content needs to be spot on to give the customer a good user experience, thus making them want to engage with you, this is also why using Social Media is very important.

With everyone using the internet more and more to do business it is so important that you are relevant and on target. You also need a call to action, whether it is for a download or a consultation call; this is very important as well and should not be ignored.

Another thing that you need to make sure you do is what I call BAP…What this stands for is BIG ASS PHONE number, have you ever been to a website and can not find the phone number or a way to contact?

That makes me crazy, don’t make me search, make it clear on how I can contact you, Your phone number could be your call to action for example “Talk to One Of Our Experts Now” and have your phone number right there.

Also make sure your website is mobile friendly, more and more people today are looking at your website on the smallest monitor there is a mobile device, does your website look good on the desktop as well as on mobile?

There are some tools you can use to help you find out if your website is mobile friendly and will let you know if you need to change, you can print out a report and get it to your web designer to take care of immediately.

Here are a couple tools I use and recommend to my clients

Website Grader they will ask you for an email just put anything in such as blahblah@blah.com, that way you won’t get spammed.

GTmetrix

Run your website through these tools and see how your site is performing and make adjustments to make it run smooth, you take your car in for a tune up, you need to do the same thing with your website.

Make sure you address any issues such as 404 Errors, website issues, website performance and search engine rankings. Your web designer should be able to take care of these, if they can’t then we need to talk, I have a guy for that. Make sure your website is running like a well tuned Ferrari.

If you would like to have me take a look under the hood as they say book a consultation call with me https://bookme.name/findability
